As I logged onto AOL just now the headline read… "Is Justin Bieber the new pop king?" (with a side by side picture of him and Michael Jackson I kid you not) I didn't have to read the article to know the answer - which is obviously yes!
Justin Bieber? HE'S getting compared to MJ? I don't blame him for this, I blame the people of America. This country has backed one too many celebrities that have no talent, and have created fortunes for them as well.
After hearing this, my mind started thinking of other famous people who have as well been lucky enough to get the popularity vote from Americans.
It first went to the Kardashians.
I don't think anyone really knows how they became "The Kardashians". While I will say their show is oddly entertaining, all 60 of them, I find myself wondering…. Who the hell are these people?
Okay, I know who Bruce Jenner is, but really other than that the Kardashian clan is a mystery to me. You'd think they all came from a famous woman's hoo hah or something - but no. They just live these rich lives from money they got from all the publicity they are getting - thanks to the people of America. Sure they have fragrances, magazine covers, commercials, endorsements, but when you think about it it all came from us.
Other celebrities I thought of were Miley Cyrus (yes she comes from a famous dad, but lets face it - she'll be a stripper by the age of 20), Kendra Wilkinson (the playboy model who now has her OWN reality TV show), Snookie and the rest of the Jersey shore cast - I mean, I could literally go on and on. Sanjaya? Fantasia? Every single American Idol winner after Kelly Clarkson basically, other than Kris Allen ;). Okay..I'm stopping now.
I will admit that most of the no talent celebrities do have some dang entertaining shows, but once again I come back to you America… We feed the publicity and fortune of these people, so why are we doing it?
I would personally love to watch a show about a talented human being - rather than a girl with horse teeth, a woman with a laugh that could make your hair fall out, or a real life Garfield look-a-like. I would also love it if people who could actually sing were on the radio… rather than a girlish boy singing "baby baby", or Tay Swift singing about all the relationships she's had in her 20 years of life - which is a lot.. Has no one ever realized that?
People need to stop embracing the bad, and embrace the wonderfully talented people. Adele has been an amazing singer for how many years now..? and just because her song was in a movie she's NOW becoming famous? Seriously people.
I guess all I have left to say is your welcome to all the non-talented celebrities out there. It's been a blast listening to your bad music and being forced to watch your shows because nothing else is on TV anymore. Your welcome for giving you all the money in the world and living a better life than the rest of us. Love ya, mean it. ;)
